Week 6 preview: Louisville at West Branch

SITE  Heacock Stadium, Friday, 7 p.m.
RECORDS  Louisville 5-0, 2-0; West Branch 2-3, 1-1.
LAST WEEK  Louisville 23, Northwest 15; West Branch 21, Alliance 20.
LAST MEETING  Louisville won, 48-28, last year.

WHAT TO WATCH  The Leopards played conservative against Northwest, but the Warriors know they cannot underestimate QB Toby Minster. While relieving injured starter Bob Swigert two weeks ago at Canton South, Minster threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cody Stocker. Ten different players have scored touchdowns for Louisville. Lucas Poyser scored his first two TDs of the season last week and rushed for 139 yards on 33 carries — his second straight 100-yard game. Zach Leniger’s blocked extra point in overtime against Alliance helped West Branch end a three-game losing streak. Mark Smith rushed for more than 140 yards in the first half and finished with a game-high 173 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown run. Smith has a team-leading 833 yards and nine TDs on the season.

LOUISVILLE Bob Swigert sat on the bench and munched on nachos, his right foot in a walking boot.

After learning earlier in the day they’d be without their star quarterback for the rest of the regular season, the Leopards ran 61 times for 244 yards to grind out a 23-15 win against Northwest.

New LouisvilleLeopards.com

Welcome to the new LouisvilleLeopards.com website.  This site has been undergoing a complete redesign for the end of 2009 and going forward into 2010.  The new site will work to cover Louisville Leopards athletics, not just football, and will allow users to get involved in providing different types of content.  Enjoy the site while the finishing touches are added, however, this website will always be a work in progress to better serve the fans of Leopards athletics.

Our company, the 330 Design Group is operated by 1996 LHS graduate Jeff Spitaleri and Kevin J. Keller.  This is our first major redesign project and we hope that this website can be your "one stop" for all Leopards athletics.  In addition to Spitaleri and Keller, Chris McDonald, the original webmaster of LouisvilleLeopards.com, has provided assistance and input along the way regarding historical information and design ideas.  McDonald, a 1994 LHS graduate, launched the original LouisvilleLeopards.com in 2001, along with Terry Moore.

Navigate the website and if you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to submit them to us.  We would love to hear from the fans and incorporate your ideas into the design of this website as much as we can.  We sincerely hope you enjoy the new website.
