Leopards win, control NBC destiny

LOUISVILLE Moments after beating West Branch last week, Louisville High School football coach Paul Farrah stood before his Leopards and made a statement.

“I hope Carrollton won.”

That meant a matchup of 6-0 teams Friday night at Louisville Stadium. Apparently, the Leopards love a challenge.

The state’s No. 1-ranked Division II team made it look easy in a rain-soaked 52-0 rout of Carrollton.

Battle of Unbeatens: Warriors at Leopards

It’s difficult not to smile about what’s happening in Carrollton.

From the depths of an 0-10 season last year, when the Warriors numbered only 26 players, they’ve rebounded to a perfect 6-0 so far in 2009. If ever warm fuzzy feelings existed in football, they’re floating around Carroll County.

But a test of harsh reality awaits. The feel-good story of the local high school football scene meets the pain-inflicting Louisville Leopards on Friday night. The 7 p.m. matchup in Louisville Stadium brings together the NBC’s final two undefeated teams.

Leopards defeat West Branch, improve to 6-0

BELOIT Ladies and gentlemen, meet quarterback Chad Neff.

Leopards fans knew the sophomore as a defensive end. On Friday, night they witnessed what he can do with the football in his hands.

Neff’s running from the QB spot sparked a 35-point second quarter for Louisville, which rolled to a 42-7 high school football win against West Branch at Heacock Stadium.
